Look at that view! We were at the OC Mining Co from late afternoon until past dark, and as the lights came on, had fun picking out landmarks such as “the big A” at Anaheim Stadium.

The couples in attendance were particularly interested in the following: Garlic Grinding Plate with Cigale, Quimper Faience Adele Topaz Iridescence Necklace, Bougies la Francaise White Violet Scented Candle in a Glass JarAntheor Raphael Champagne Flute, and everybody loved our children’s clothes

We are going to the Orange County Mining Company Spring Bridal Show on Sunday, March 29.  The event is from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Admission is $5.00 if you reserve ahead of time, or $10.00 at the door. There will be a menu tasting and raffle prizes as well. We’re donating a Bougies la Francaise scented jar candle for the raffle.

We will be showing our tableware, tablecloths, candles, and children’s clothing (adorable French styles for flower girls and ring bearers).

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth! What a fun event, lots of music and people. Unfortunately, we got the first rain of fall while lacking a canopy, and had to cut our exhibition short. Still, a great morning. It’s so nice to see how people respond to our products.

Lys dinnerware from Antheor, particularly in yellow. Everybody was picking these up to feel them and look at them from all sides.

Rivalin slippers in children’s sizes, and scented candles from Bougies la Francaise. The slippers come from Brittany, France, and are SO charming. The slippers we had at the booth are samples; we’ll have stock available for sale in early 2009.

A BIG Merci Beaucoup to my friend Lam who took these photos! She has real talent. See more of her photos on her blog.

We’re going to be displaying our products this Sunday morning at the Dinosaur Dash benefit for Tustin schools. This event takes place at the Tustin Marketplace from 7:00 to 11:00 a.m. Look for our booth in the Exhibitor area in front of Chick’s Sporting Goods. Also, look for our ad in the Goodie Book. See you there!

Event Information

Thank you to all our friends and family who came to our debut! We were so happy to see you all. After the months of planning, trips to L.A., and loads of boxes, it was great to finally show you what we’ve been working on. It was also really nice to meet all the new people who saw our products and our business for the first time.

Compagnie de Provence Olive-Lavender Soap

Hands down, the Olive-Lavender line from Compagnie de Provence was the big winner of the day. Liquid soap, bar soap, hand cream — everybody wanted it. We had a jar of free sample soaps, and a few people  picked through the samples to take this soap over the others.

The infant and toddler girls’ outfits from Berlingot and Alphabet drew many sighs. You can see them hanging in the second photo above. (The woman on the left is checking out the embroidery on a skirt.)

The Quimper faïence pendants from HB Henriot got a lot of attention. Our very first sale included a pendant design that was so new, it’s not even on the French company’s website yet. People liked the unique designs that are also easy to wear.

Almost everyone flipped through our basket of Vent du Sud teflon-coated tablecloths. At one point, when I was away from our table for a few minutes, I even overheard one woman telling another to go look at our tablecloths. Wow! I think a teflon-coated tablecloth is a great boon, and am glad other people think so too.

We also sold multiple boxes of Apiana Honey soap.

All in all, we had a great afternoon. Can’t wait for the next show!

Our first product exhibition is at hand! We will be showing off our goods at the North Tustin Holiday Craft Show this Saturday, October 25. We will have tableware, candles, linens, soaps, and toddler clothes for sale. Christmas items too! Email me if you live nearby and want to come, and I will send you the info.

For example, here’s a Christmas tea towel from Garnier-Thiebaut, a high-end linens manufacturer in the Vosges region of France. These are thick cotton yarn-dyed jacquard, and are made in France. We will be selling these for $15.50.

BONUS SHOW SPECIAL: We will also be selling mini hand creams from Compagnie de Provence for only $1 each, during the craft show only. These normally sell for $4.
